This article describes the process to login with Sinch ID. Sinch Engage is rolling out a new login experience that will allow our customers to seamlessly login to any of their existing Sinch services. As such, you may notice a sequence of login pages that differ from those with which you're familiar.
How does this impact me?
As an existing customer, you do not have to do anything – your existing email/password and 2FA will be automatically migrated to a Sinch ID.
You will however, notice a different sequence of login pages when you try to log in. But don’t worry, we will guide you step-by-step through the new experience below.
The new login experience
The new experience is straightforward, but we understand it can be a bit jarring when you're familiar with the previous experience of logging into your Sinch Engage account. There are 3 simple steps to follow:
-
Navigate to the login page and enter your email address:
-
Now, you'll enter your password. It's the same one you've been using to login to the Sinch Engage portal, this hasn't changed! Once you've entered it then click Continue.
-
The last screen you see asks for your 2FA token, which will be sent to your mobile phone, or will be stored in your Authentication app on your mobile device/ desktop. Once you have the code you can enter the 6-digit token and click the Continue button.
Note: You can check the Remember this device for 30 days box to skip this prompt for a code for 30 days, if you are using the same device.
If you clear your cookies you will be prompted for a code again.
Congratulations, you've successfully completed your first sign-in with Sinch ID! You'll now be taken to the Sinch Engage portal.
Configuring an MFA method
If you do not already have a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method configured on your account, you will be prompted to create one during the sign-in process. The process of configuring an MFA method has four steps:
-
After entering your username and password correctly, you will be prompted to add another authentication method. You can choose to add an authenticator app, a phone number for SMS codes, or a security key.
Note: The steps below outline how to configure a number for SMS. If you wish to configure an authenticator app instead, please see our guide on configuring Authenticator apps.
-
Enter your phone number and indicate the country that number is from.
-
Enter the 2FA code sent to your chosen number via SMS.
-
Copy and safely record your recovery code. This ensures you can still access your account should you ever have an issue with MFA (e.g. you lose access to the provided phone number).
Managing Sinch ID
You can manage your Sinch ID details, review recent login activity and login to your other Sinch products all from one place.
