Mobile App | Bypass for an unsupported MFA method
If you use a security key as your only multi-factor authentication (MFA) method, you may be blocked from signing in to the Sinch mobile app. This happens because security keys are not supported as an authentication method on mobile devices. When you try to access the mobile app, the sign-in flow cannot complete with a security key alone. To sign in on mobile, you need a second MFA method, such as an authenticator app.
Before you begin
You must have access to a device where your security key already works, such as a desktop or laptop. You will need this device to complete the setup below.
How to add an authenticator app as an MFA method
- Sign into my.sinch.com from the desktop or laptop where your security key is already enabled and working.
- Go to Sign-in & Security, then select Authentication methods (MFA).
-
Click + Setup next to the Authenticator app option.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you don't have one installed yet, download one on your mobile device first - for example, Microsoft Authenticator.
- Enter the one-time code generated by the authenticator app, then click Continue.
After setup
Once the authenticator app is added as an MFA method, you can sign in to the Sinch mobile app using the one-time code from your authenticator app.
Still having trouble?
If you still can't sign in after adding an authenticator app, make sure the app is set up correctly and that you're entering the current one-time code. If you need further help, contact support.
