You can send an individual SMS or RCS message from a Contact, Account, User or Lead record in Sinch SMS for Dynamics.
To send RCS messages, you'll need to connect RCS to your Sinch MessageMedia account first. If an agent isn’t set up, a warning message will display.
Send individual SMS message
- Log in and access the SMS for Dynamics app.
- From the left-side navigation menu, click SMS & RCS.
-
Alternatively, you can locate and select the contact you want to send a message to. In the contact's Timeline, click the + icon and then Sinch Messaging which will take you to the SMS & RCS page.
-
From the SMS & RCS messaging screen, configure your message:
- From: Select the user who will be sending this message.
- To: The contact record you're sending the message to.
- Subject: Enter a subject. This will not be included in the SMS - it will only appear in the Timeline so you can easily review what the message is about.
- Channel: SMS
- Direction: Outbound indicates that the message is being sent out to the contact.
- Regarding: Indicates the record in the system.
-
Template: If you select a template from the drop-down list, the Subject and Message will automatically pre-populate.
When searching for a template, the system will search for what the template begins with. To search for 'Appt Reminder' by using 'Reminder' as your search term, use an asterisk on either side e.g. *Reminder* for the search to work.
-
Scroll down and compose your message:
- Sender ID: Select a sender ID to be used to send the RCS message.
- Message: Compose your SMS message. You can add personalisation by clicking Insert Field. Ensure the fields you add to your message have data in them in the contact profile.
- To Telephone: If you have phone field mappings set up, this field will also auto-populate.
- Click on Preview Message to see what the message will look like before sending it.
- When you're ready, click the Save and Send button in the top navigation bar to send the message.
- The Activity Status and Status Reason will update once the message is sent.
